On this episode of the Pizza Market Podcast, Editor Mandy Detwiler talks to Carl Comeaux, CEO and companion of Texas-based Crust Pizza Co. Comeaux joined the corporate after being a fan of its pizza. Crust now has 30 items in Texas and Louisiana and plans to develop one other 15 in 2025. It has seven company shops and 23 franchised items with a purpose of 250 items in 9 years.
“We’re in search of owner-operators,” Comeaux stated within the podcast. “Proper now at this stage of the place we’re at in development, ultimately we’ll be in search of multi-unit franchisees that personal 10 to fifteen different items for different ideas which might be in search of a second model to sink their enamel into.”
Comeaux stated the product helps Crust stand out in a heavy pizza discipline.
“It is premium high quality,” he stated, including the dough is made in home each 4 hours. “Our sauces are all proprietary blends — our pizza sauce, marinara, Ranch, Alfredo … the sauce are superb that you would be able to placed on the pizza or dip. … We created our personal propriety cheese a couple of 12 months in the past, and after we did that we have been capable of save 50 cents per pound on cheese.”
