Arran 1996 (Classic Bottlers) | WhiskyNotes overview

Arran 1996 (Vintage Bottlers)

Classic Bottlers simply launched this Arran 1996. We already reviewed a wonderful Arran 1997 from the identical bottlers, however that was a extra lively sherry cask with a considerably darker color. This one is much less intense.

Arran 27 yo 1996 (48,7%, Classic Bottlers 2024, Oloroso sherry cask #365, 208 btl.)

Nostril: very creamy, with hints of butter cream, shortbread, combined with barely sharper notes of paraffin and moist chalk. Refined hints of floral honey. Then loads of yellow apples and melons, lemon custard and a few inexperienced leafy notes. Very pure. Hints of cornflakes and oranges too.

Mouth: fairly spherical, with a very nice texture. Hints of vibrant peaches and extra apples, in addition to custard and a a gentle nuttiness from the sherry. A toasted, virtually smoky trace within the distance. Then loads of oats, with extra cornflakes, hints of vanilla cake and toffee. White pepper and raisins ultimately.

End: medium size, displaying some blonde sugar, citrus, malty notes and hints of tart berries.

Stable whisky, all very pure and constant from nostril to complete. There’s not a lot Oloroso to be discovered, however we’re not complaining. Nothing distinctive, simply an easy-drinking dram. Nonetheless accessible from Classic Bottlers.
