Ivan Barbic MW has been working for over twenty-five years within the wine enterprise. First, he labored in wine analysis at Agroscope in Wädenswil, then as a gross sales supervisor for oenology merchandise. After that, his roles have included Wine Purchaser for Coop, head of wine buying for Bataillard, head of wine for Denner and strategic purchaser for Bataillard.
He now consults for various wine producers and is proprietor of Ivan Barbic Wine Consulting.
He acted as chairman of the Maître Conseil en Vins de France from 2006 – 2008, and was a contract journalist for a number of years, writing for magazines equivalent to Schweizerische Weinzeitung, Vinum and the Croatian meals and wine journal, Ice & Pice.
Ivan grew to become a Grasp of Wine in 2016.
He has a few years of expertise judging at wine competitions. Since 2021 he has been the co-chairman of Expovina Wine Trophy in Zurich.
