McDermott co-founded Proof Drinks in 2010 alongside Paul Ferguson, constructing a portfolio of manufacturers corresponding to Cazcabel, Lyre’s, Duppy Share, Finlandia, Ramsbury, Brockmans and the Heaven Hill & Gruppo Montenegro portfolios.
Ferguson mentioned: “We’re all deeply saddened by James’ passing. He was a real good friend to so many, each inside Proof and throughout the trade. We constructed Proof collectively from the ground-up, with our private values driving the enterprise ahead; discovering the individuals, manufacturers and companions that believed in our imaginative and prescient and embodied how we felt concerning the trade we beloved. It’s heartbreaking to have misplaced James so abruptly, he will probably be so tremendously missed by everybody.”
Alongside the Vasquez household and Ferguson, McDermott co-founded Cazcabel Tequila, together with a bunch of different manufacturers, below the Vamos Drinks Firm, corresponding to CUT Rum and Mix liqueurs.
