At one time Oregon had a number of hundred thousand acres of previous development forests that supplied habitat for animals and vegetation, clear water, organic range and carbon sequestration. At this time, following many years of logging, 6% of previous development stands stay in our state forests. That is lower than 50,000 acres out of over 600,000 acres of state forestland managed by the Oregon Division of Forestry. Please write or name Gov. Tina Kotek to ask for defense of what’s left. With the governor’s backing, the ODF can handle the remaining previous development for perpetuity with a view to profit future generations, together with the wildlife which depends on previous development habitat for its survival.
