The Story Behind The Derrumbes Oaxacan Outdated Normal

Take a break from winter with this riff on the Outdated Normal, that includes Mezcal Derrumbes Oaxaca — a mix of the Espadín and Tobalá agave varieties. Add mole bitters and agave nectar, then serve in an ice-filled rocks glass and garnish with an orange peel — and faux you are sitting and sipping below the Mexican solar.

Components

  • 2 ounces Mezcal Derrumbes Oaxaca
  • ½ ounce agave nectar
  • 2-3 dashes of mole bitters
  • Garnish: orange peel

Instructions

  1. Add components into an ice crammed mixing glass.
  2. Stir to mix and chill.
  3. Pressure right into a double quaint rocks glass containing a rock of ice.
  4. Garnish with an expressed orange peel.
